[ALPHA: eveSeven] [Discovery] - End User Will Not Be Able to Daemonize EveIRC without Additional Software
Created by: tayjaybabee
Describe the bug Due to the lack of fork() in the native Ruby environment for Windows one will be able to run ./eve-irc but unable to deamonize using Cinchize without support from Cygwin or something similar that provides the fork() functionality.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Install Ruby for Windows
- Clone project
- Test ./eve-irc (WORKING!)
- Test cinchize, (FAIL, Missing Fork() functionality)
Expected behavior Before testing we expected cinchize to properly daemonize eveIRC just as it had in a Ubuntu Unix environment during testing.
Screenshots N/A
Additional context We may not need to worry about this, as we will be making eveIRC a .exe binary for Windows. Picky users who choose to use the CLI version (like, myself) on a Windows environment (unlike myself) will be forced to use a third-party environment or be unable to use the daemonize function.
However, the bot should run as expected. This is subject to change at any moment as we write more code.
